Rice University Educational Technologies uses the OWL-Socrates system (via Panopto) as a course capture tool to provide webarchived sessions of select courses offered at Rice. With this tool, students are able to review concepts presented in class to help them solidify their understanding of the content.
OWL-Socrates has also been used to webarchive and live webcast various presentations, meetings, and events hosted by Rice organizations.
For an example of an OWL-Socrates-recorded presentation, please view "Let's Talk About Learning," a presentation given by Gary Kidney, PhD, Director of Academic & Research Computing. (You will be prompted to download and install Microsoft's Silverlight plug-in if it's not already installed in your web browser.)
Most courses and recorded sessions are password-protected, but more publicly available sessions are available at http://owlsocrates.rice.edu.
