Chris Mooney is a 2009–2010 Knight Science Journalism Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the author of three books: “The Republican War on Science” (a New York Times bestseller), “Storm World” and “Unscientific America: How Scientific Illiteracy Threatens Our Future,” co-authored by Sheril Kirshenbaum. Mooney and Kirshenbaum also write “The Intersection” blog on discovermagazine.com.

Before becoming a freelance writer, Mooney worked for two years at The American Prospect magazine as a writing fellow, staff writer and online editor. He has also been visiting associate at the Center for Collaborative History at Princeton University, and is a contributing editor to Science Progress and a senior correspondent for The American Prospect. Mooney graduated from Yale University.
