Audience Response Systems (ARS)
About ARS: Audience response systems create interactivity between a presenter and his/her audience. Systems for co-located audiences combine wireless hardware with presentation software. In educational settings, such systems are often called "Student Response Systems" or "Personal Response Systems." Students use a hand-held remote control, often called a "clicker", to convey their responses to questions. The instructional computer collects and sumarizes responses via a combination of a receiver and software.
At this time, Rice supports the Turning Technologies ARS. This decision was arrived to after a series of feedback and roundtable sessions with faculty.
